Connect | Get Connected!

There were times in my twenties when I would become very withdrawn from social activities. I felt like being alone at home was the best way to avoid the pressures of looking and acting a certain way to fit in. However, when I tried to be alone, I would feel like I was missing out on things, which created feelings of anxiety. This was a very conflicting period in my life, largely because I did not understand relationships, or how to connect within relationships.

Here’s what I learned; one size doesn’t fit all when it comes to connecting with others, you control how you want to connect, and connections should not create stress in your life. Humans are social species and inherently possess a need to connect with others, and when those connections are not made, feelings of anxiety, depression, and loneliness may occur.

Share your thoughts on connecting.
