Deluxe | Deluxe Apartment In The Sky?

This week I watched a reboot of the seventies show The Jeffersons. The show focused on George and Louise Jefferson, an African-American couple who were able to move from Queens to Manhattan owing to the success of George's dry cleaning chain. In one episode of The Jeffersons, George demanded Louise cut ties with one of her friends because the friend was a maid. George declared they were doing so well, financially, he and Louise could no longer associate with people who did not have as much as they did. Conversely, in real life, billionaire investor Robert F. Smith, not only decided to associate himself with graduating college students who have far less than him financially, he declared he would pay off their student loans.

Who are you? Figuratively speaking, are you movin’ on up to a “deluxe apartment in the sky”, and choosing to cut ties with old friends because opportunities are brighter somewhere else? Or, have you realized wherever you are in life, you are blessed, and decided to use your blessings to bless others?

Share your thoughts on movin’ on up.
