2020 | 2020 Vision?
The term 20/20 vision is used to express normal visual acuity measured at a distance of 20 feet. If you have 20/20 vision, you can see clearly at 20 feet what should normally be seen at that distance. If you have 20/40 vision, it means that you must be as close as 20 feet to see what a person with normal vision can see at 40 feet. Some individuals like to say they have perfect vision if they have 20/20 vision. However, having 20/20 vision does not necessarily mean you have perfect vision. 20/20 vision only indicates the sharpness or clarity of vision at a distance.
As our nation approached the end of 2019 and the start of 2020, the phrase 20/20 Vision was widely used by many to express their confidence and optimism in the prosperity 2020 would bring. Now that we approach the end of the second quarter of 2020, I wonder if these same people can still proclaim 20/20 Vision. The uncertainty created by Covid-19 has many expressing doubts about their future, which might appear more like cataract (cloudy and blurred) vision. To everyone reading this blog post, I send these scriptures to encourage and strengthen you.
Ephesians 1:18 New International Version (NIV)
18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,
1 Peter 5:10 New International Version (NIV)
10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
