Breakfast | Breakfast Or Fast Break?

A few years ago I met with my doctor because I was experiencing nausea, an accelerated heart rate, and trembling throughout the day. My doctor asked me about my eating schedule. I explained, at that time, I would try not to have dinner after 7:00pm, as part of my plan of maintaining my weight. I would eat breakfast around 7:00am, which typically included half a bagel and a banana, then lunch would take place sometime around noon. The diagnosis was hypoglycemia. My doctor explained that the 12 hour time period between meals was too long to go without some food, and I should eat more for breakfast.

Hypoglycemia is a condition caused by a very low level of blood sugar (glucose), which is your body's main source of energy. When your body goes without enough sugars and nutrients in your blood, your body becomes stressed. Consuming a larger balanced breakfast breaks the overnight fasting period, replenishes your supply of glucose, and jump starts your metabolism, helping you burn calories throughout the day. A generous breakfast also gives you the energy you need to avoid those negative symptoms, and to stay focus on the things you need to get done.
